Explore a Career That Protects People – and the Businesses They’re Building

ExplorEA™ introduces you to the Enrolled Agent profession – a federally licensed role at the intersection of tax law, entrepreneurship, and finance – so you can make an informed career decision before committing years of time, debt, or a full career shift.

Small businesses – and 168M taxpayers – rely on tax professionals to navigate financial decisions and compliance.

Enrolled Agents nationwide – a small, specialized profession with demand that continues to outpace supply.

Typical starting compensation for Enrolled Agents trained in tax resolution and integrated business advocacy.

Real Impact. Real Stability. Real Opportunity.

Often called accounting’s best-kept secret, Enrolled Agents hold the nation’s highest federal credential in tax law and work directly with individuals and small businesses during financially meaningful moments. This is not transactional work. It is trusted, federally authorized, problem-solving work – and demand continues to grow.

ExplorEA™ gives you structured exposure to the profession so you can decide with clarity, not guesswork, if this is for you.

ExplorEA™ – Career Exploration With Structure

ExplorEA™ is a six-week, guided career exploration experience designed to help you understand the Enrolled Agent profession before you invest years of time, education, or money navigating this career path.

Rather than asking you to commit upfront, ExplorEA offers guided exposure to:

  • how Enrolled Agents approach real-world financial problems
  • what client situations look like when stakes are high
  • the responsibilities and professional standards tied to federal licensure
  • the professional paths EAs build inside firms and advisory environments

This is not a tax preparation class. This is not a licensing course.

It is an informed decision point – designed to help you determine whether the EA profession aligns with your strengths, values, and long-term goals.

ExplorEA is the first step in Taxley’s career pathway and does not replace licensure, formal apprenticeship training, or on-the-job employment.

Clarity is the outcome. Direction comes next.

This Profession Goes Further Than Most People Expect

Most people assume tax careers begin and end with tax preparation. They don’t. Enrolled Agents build analytical, financial, and advocacy skills used across industries where individuals and organizations operate under financial pressure. ExplorEA shows how this work applies in real environments – before you commit to formal training or employment.

ApprentEA: Pursuing the EA Career Path After ExplorEA

For those ready to move beyond exploration and into real professional development, ApprentEA™ is the employer-sponsored pathway that turns interest in the Enrolled Agent profession into a paid, practice-ready career.

ApprentEA is the first-ever registered apprenticeship program for Enrolled Agents.

It is a paid, employer-sponsored, two-year registered apprenticeship that develops aspiring Enrolled Agents through a deliberate blend of career-focused education and structured on-the-job training.

ApprentEA exists because firms cannot hire this level of capability on the open market – it has to be developed.

Designed for aspiring and newly licensed Enrolled Agents, ApprentEA prepares professionals to operate with technical knowledge, professional judgment, and integrated solutions that address the real needs of small businesses.

What ApprentEA Offers:

  • Earn while you learn inside a tax, law, or accounting firm
  • Develop through structured, mentored development over a two-year period
  • Train under Taxley’s TRIBA™ framework, focused on tax resolution, integrated business advocacy, ethics, and professional reasoning
  • Progress through a pathway that is guided, measured, and federally aligned – not informal or improvised

This is not a course you enroll in. Employers sponsor apprentices into ApprentEA after ExplorEA confirms readiness and fit.

Outcome: A federally credentialed Enrolled Agent with real case experience, professional confidence under pressure, and long-term career mobility – developed inside a firm, not on the sidelines.

Details on the full apprentice experience are shared once you’re ready to pursue employer sponsorship.

Meet the Founder & CEO

Anisha Bailey, EA, MSEL

Anisha Bailey didn’t follow a straight career path – and that’s the point.

After earning a marketing degree, she pivoted into accounting and discovered the Enrolled Agent profession almost by accident.

That unplanned shift became a long-term career built inside complex tax resolution and business advisory work – where outcomes depended less on memorizing tax law and more on professional judgment, systems thinking, and clarity under pressure.

ExplorEA was created for people at a similar crossroads – capable, curious, and ready to explore what’s next without starting over.

Her mission is simple: open doors, expand possibilities, and help people build careers with stability, purpose, and upward mobility – without unnecessary barriers.

Lasting Careers Start with Clarity

Most people don’t change college majors or even their careers because they failed – they change because the path they originally chose no longer fits.

Frequently Asked Questions

ExplorEA™ is a 6-week career exploration experience that helps adults evaluate whether the Enrolled Agent profession – especially tax resolution and integrated business advocacy – is a fit before committing to formal training, certification, or a full career shift.

It’s designed to build clarity and exposure, not deliver licensing or tax preparation skills.

An Enrolled Agent is a federally licensed tax professional authorized to represent taxpayers and small businesses before the IRS. EAs combine tax expertise with financial and business understanding to help people resolve complex tax issues, interpret financial reality, and make informed decisions.

ExplorEA is for:

  • Adults considering a career pivot or expansion into tax, finance, business, law, or advocacy
  • Professionals exploring a more stable, purpose-driven, and in-demand career path
  • Students and early-career adults who want to understand the EA profession before committing

No prior tax or accounting experience is required.

ExplorEA may not be a fit if you:

  • Want immediate certification, licensing, or job placement
  • Are seeking formal tax preparation training
  • Are not ready to engage seriously in career exploration and self-assessment

ExplorEA is intentionally exploratory.

No – and intentionally so.

ExplorEA is designed to help people make informed decisions, not rush into the wrong next step. Career outcomes depend on subsequent training, employer sponsorship, and individual readiness.

Because career decisions are expensive. ExplorEA prevents:

  • Investing years in the wrong path
  • Accumulating unnecessary debt
  • Entering training without understanding the work

It’s a low-risk, high-clarity first step.

ExplorEA is an Enrolled Agent career readiness experience, not a registered pre-apprenticeship.

It provides foundational skills and exposure to the EA profession but does not carry pre-apprenticeship registration status. However, it is a good first step for those considering ApprentEA – the only registered apprenticeship program for the EA profession.

Yes – ExplorEA is an excellent screening and readiness step. It lets you evaluate an employee’s interest, discipline, and foundational fit for EA-level work before investing time or resources into higher-rigor programs like ApprentEA or ImpactEA.

Graduates age 18+ who earn the optional Commitment Badge may choose to be listed in the ExplorEA Talent Directory.

This directory is visible only to approved employer partners who are hiring for ApprentEA positions.

It does not guarantee interviews, sponsorship, or apprenticeship placement.

No.

ExplorEA does not teach tax preparation, exam prep, or IRS representation.

Instead, it introduces how Enrolled Agents think, how tax resolution works in practice, and how integrated business advocacy supports individuals and small businesses.

Yes. High school juniors and seniors (16+) may participate. Students may opt into the Talent Directory only after turning 18.

ExplorEA can help you confirm whether the Enrolled Agent profession is the right fit for your goals and can prepare you for sponsorship into ApprentEA™ if your employer chooses to enroll you.

Expect about 3–4 hours per week:

  • 1-hour live session
  • On-demand modules
  • Assignments and cohort interaction  ments

Tuition covers the 6-week experience, 12 months of on-demand content, a private peer community, guest speakers, certificate of completion, and optional eligibility for the Talent Directory (18+).

ExplorEA is offered three times annually: February–March, June–July, and October–November.

Yes. We provide documentation required for elective or CTE credit approval. Each institution determines whether credit is awarded.

Yes. Many institutions sponsor ExplorEA participants – and Taxley provides documentation to support funding requests.
